Should you need a change of pace from showgirls and slot machines, lace up your hiking shoes and head to the bluffs and valleys of Red Rock Canyon, Nevada’s first National Conservation Area. Leisure-seekers can pack a picnic lunch, grab a map and explore any number of scenic trails, or thrill-seekers can take a crack at climbing 7,068-foot Mount Wilson, a towering sandstone peak. Either way, though only 20 miles from Vegas’s Strip, you’ll feel worlds away in spirit.

The latest spectacle from perennial hot ticket Cirque du Soleil pairs artful remixes of some of the King of Pop’s most popular songs with the company’s jawdropping acrobatics, in which performers seem to fly effortlessly through the air and moonwalk up walls.
